Peregrine Falcon Project

Currently, the obstacles that face this project are 1) funding and 2) getting construction materials. A major amount of progress has been made since this project’s conception, from working with Princeton University administration, Public Safety, the NJ Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP), Office of Information and Technology, Facilities, and more. The assistance of an array of courteous and helpful University members has converted this project from a dream to a plan, and without them this would not be possible.

Eco Explorers – Children’s Environmental Story Hour Program

An initiative we are developing is a Children’s Environmental Story Hour. At the story hour, students pick environmental picture books and stories and read them aloud to children. Along with the reading, students discuss some of these environmental topics and introduce sustainable habits and ideas, such as recycling, composting, etc. The audience then gets the chance to work on a craft or project, such as making their own water filters out of natural materials, using recycled materials for art, or learning how to compost. Each story hour focuses on a specific environmental topic and has a story, discussion, and craft dedicated to the topic.

Bog Week Workday in the Pocono Mountains

Join the Princeton Conservation Society on a trip to the Pocono Mountain region of Pennsylvania, where we’ll work together with a longtime partner, The Nature Conservancy, an organization that is committed to conservation initiatives on donated and purchased tracts of land across the world.

We’ll be working in Tannersville Bog, a protected and highly prized area host to incredibly rare plants, like native orchids and carnivorous plants. We’ll work together under the guidance of TNC PA, doing hands on work either removing invasive plants, cleaning brush, or designating trails.
